Directions

Visitors Arriving by road via the M4 motorway should exit at Junction 33 and follow signs for the Docks, exiting at the junction for Penarth.

At the traffic lights at the bottom of the slip road keep in the outside lane and move across to the centre lane at the next set of traffic lights on the roundabout. Stay in this lane and follow the road around to the next set of traffic lights (under the flyover).

At the next set of traffic lights go straight on towards Penarth, and after approx 150 yards (before the next set of lights directly in front of you) take the left fork and move into the far right hand lane (Morrison’s garage will be on your left and Toys R Us on your right).

At the next set of lights turn right, then straight on at the next set of lights (past Toys R Us on your right and the Cardiff International Pool on your left).

At the roundabout take the first turning left, travel along the road approx 100 yards and just after the entrance into the car park for the pool, turn right, onto a tarmac road which has metal fences either side (large white notice for Cardiff Bay Yacht Club).

Carry on along this road until you come to a set of large grey gates. You are now at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club. On the right hand side of the gate there is a call button you will need to press to talk to a member of staff who will let you in.

SATNAV: CF11 0JS takes you to the swimming pool (turn left at the roundabout then right at the ice rink)

Launching and Recovery.

Launching and Recovery is via a concrete ramp, which is further aided by the provision of an electric Capstan Winch.
The Club have made available to us, a pontoon adjacent to the concrete ramp, for our exclusive use and are happy for boats to remain afloat for the duration of the Championship.
* It is suggested that if you would like the convenience of your boat remaining afloat during the Championship, that each helm bring along a fender.
Safety.
In addition to the Committee Boat there will be 2 Safety Boats on the water during each race.

If needed, the Club’s First Aid Kit can be obtained from the Club Office.

The Club has two defibrillators, which can be obtained from the Club Office.

The nearest hospital is ‘The Heath’ which has an A & E unit and which is five minutes away by ambulance.

Costs.

The cost of entry into the Nationals is inclusive of the cost of Safety Boat hire and of the National Championship dinner.
This will amount to £75.00 per helm if paid by the 11th September 2015.
Entries after this date will incur a ‘late entry fee’ of £10.00, making a total of £85.00 per helm. This is to enable the host club sufficient time to organize the work involved in both the Championship and the catering.
